My brother, Austin (13 years old) is probably the most heinous of all brothers. However I have soon found out that Austin floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee. But let me start from the beginning.
Right now I’m in a tough situation because right now I just heard the news that we are moving back to Colorado even though we have only lived here in Seattle for two years. I have finally understood why my parents always say that life is short because it seems like a week ago that we moved here. The other day I was packing up my things when I accidentally packed up one of Austin’s books, that is where the story begins.
“What are you doing with my book!” My brother Austin screamed at me.
“I, I thought it was mine,” As I gave him a reply with the shakiness of my voice.
“Well look into the front cover! Do you see your name in it, RYAN!!!!!!!!”
“No,” I replied without making eye contact with him.
“Well, GIVE TO ME!!!” Austin screamed at me as he shoved me to the ground and grabbed the book at my hand. That night I replayed that whole entire incident. To be honest with you I really did not know that it was his book. Just because it was a mistake does not mean that I deserve to get shoved to the ground.
The next morning I awoke around seven thirty and got ready to go to the airport and leave to Colorado. When I was heading to the car I forgot why Austin, Zach, and my dad was not coming with my mom, my sister, and I. “Austin aren’t you coming?” He disregarded me, as usual. He didn’t even move a muscle. “Sorry mom I just got a sudden blackout in my brain, how come the rest of the family is not going?”
“Oh well remember your father and Austin are driving the U-Haul and Zach is staying with Andrea. You know teenage love.” My mom replied in a nice tone. Andrea was basically Zach’s girlfriend but he and she will never admit it. On the plane I was watching, Star Wars: The Revenge of the Sith, Spongebob, and Icarly. Then I fell into a sudden sleep.
When I awoke about two hours later we were here in Colorado and we were landing any minute. I was as sad as a dog with no home, yet as happy as a sunflower blossoming. I had realized that I would have to start a new life with Austin in a totally new house with not knowing anyone, because when I previously lived in Colorado about two years ago all of my friends live in Roxbourogh, which was about 45 minutes away.
About three months later, Christmas had just passed and we were still on winter break and then one night we were washing dishes then Austin decided he is going to ditch the dishes and go read his new book, Stephen King Under The Dome, which he had just gotten for Christmas. When I was done I was walking over to the couch with a glass of milk in my hand when I accidentally tripped and poured a tiny bit onto Austin’s sweatshirt and a tiny bit on his book in which did no harm at all.
“What are doing!” he screamed at me. Then my parents soon got involved with it, which led him sobbing into his room. Then I thought, “Hey I found his weakness.” The other day I asked if I could read one of his books then that opened up a smile. When I finished the book he asked me what was my favorite part and I told him. However I never finished the book I just Googled the ending. That was our first real conversation. That day I realized that brothers can float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. I say that because Austin sometimes floats past me and ignores me whenever I ask something. And stings like a bee when I ask anything about a book.
